The
second largest tectonic lake in Macedonia is lake Prespa. It is found in
a beautiful valley east of lake Ohrid. From lake Ohrid it is separated
by the mountain Galicica, and lies at an altitude of 853m. It
has a total area of 274 square kilometres and a water temperature between
18°C to 24°C. The lake is divided into three parts and of the
274 square kilometres, 49.4 sq. km are in Albania, and 15.6 sq. km are
in Greece.
It is 28.6 kilometres long, and from 9.9 to 16.9 km wide.
It is 54 m deep, that contains nine species of fish.
