Stevan
Naumov - Stif was born in the year of 1920 in Lepensko, Aegean Macedonia.
He studied secondary school in Bitola, and then studied at the Technical
University in Belgrade. Because of his revolutionary views before the war,
where he spent six months in jail. After he was release he participated
in demonstrations with a bigger revolutionary view, and was in prison again.
Stevan goes to Bitola and as a seasonal employee work's in the monopoly,
where he forms illegal groups from successful workers. After the occupation
of Macedonia, together with Kuzman Josifovski - Pitu in Bitola, they organised
the Ilinden demonstrations. As an illegal person he undertook a number
of actions in Bitola. In the spring of 1942, he became a member of the
Operative headquarters of Macedonia. Together with Mirce Acev, they formed
a Partisan detached force. Stevan killed the chief of police Kurciev, who
tried to liquidate him. Stevan is sentenced to death and man hunted for
the price of 200,000 leva. Stevan died on 12.09.1942 in the village of
Bolno, together with the national hero Mite Bogoevski, taking his life
so that he does not fall into the hands of the Bulgarian occupier.
Stevan Naumov - Stif was proclaimed as a national hero
on 29 July, 1945.
