Mirce
Acev was born on 20 October 1915, in the village of Oreovec - Prilep. A
member of KPJ from 1940, then a member of NOB in 1941. He is one of the
best known leaders of the Communist party NOB ( National - Freedom Movement
) in Macedonia. In the progressive youth movement where he participated
since he was a student in the Secondary School of Bitola, his revolutionary
activness was developed in the University in Belgrade, and then in the
Prilep party organisation. He was pursued by the police because of his
revolutionary activness, and he had to go by illegality since the beginning
of 1940.
In the time of NOB, Mirce was a member of the Province
Komitet of KPJ for Macedonia, and a member of the Main headquarters
of NOB and POM. He worked on organising the first Partisan detached force
in Bitola and Prilep. In the beginning of the 1942, he became a secretary
of the Temporary province Komitet of KPJ for Macedonia. He was then
a leader in the battles to free Prilep and Veles. In December 1942, together
with Straso Pindur, he fell into the hands of the Bulgarian Fascist Police
in Veles. After the brutal tortures from the Bulgarian agents (which he
heroically withstood), Mirce Acev was thrown through the prison window,
and brutally killed.
